Ear Cropping
To crop ears our vet makes an incision then places a nylon insert inside the ear to hold the ear upright. The stitches need to be removed in 14 days, the nylon inserts need to be removed within 5 weeks. Our vet will remove the stitches and nylon inserts free of charge. A set of nylon inserts and some examples of a standard crop are pictured below.
Usually a standard crop will require taping for 2-3 months after the inserts are removed, however a show cut must be taped for 6 to 8 months after the inserts are removed. To watch an instructional video on how to tape ears look at the following link;
